Roaring off the starting line and ready to rock the blacktop, Krysta Scoggins is kickin’ it into high gear all over Canada. Born & raised in Alberta, Krysta was deep into music from the very beginning. Residing in Fort Saskatchewan and later in Mannville, she was working on guitar and piano skills by age 5 and performing for large crowds shortly thereafter. Krysta headed to the University of Alberta majoring in music education but she could not stay away from live performance and this led to opening slots for Trace Adkins, Emerson Drive, Tricia Yearwood, Paul Brandt, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Jason McCoy, Johnny Reid, George Canyon, etc… as well as international travel to perform for our Canadian Military in Israel and Egypt. She has also been featured in CCMA showcases, and performed before thousands at the world famous Calgary Stampede and the Big Valley Jamboree.
Krysta’s first full length CD entitled “It’s Up To Me” solidified her place as a new Canadian artist and garnered substantial radio airplay with the songs “Run, Run, Run” and “Climbing Up Mt. Everest”.
Collaborating with infamous Music Row troublemaker Scott Baggett (best known in Canada for his work with The Road Hammers and Jason McCoy) Krysta has crafted a whole new sound and look that connects with her inner need to party! The new CD is called “GET FUN OR GO HOME” and that says it all. The new CD will feature co-writes with the aforementioned Road Hammers as well as dynamite Canadian songstress Carolyn Dawn Johnson.
“The new album is a logical extension of her energetic live shows that virtually dare the listener not to get up and dance! “ explains producer, Scott Baggett.
